Here Are The Lawmakers who Thwarted a 13th Check for ERS Retirees
During the 89th legislative session, the Texas House overwhelmingly approved HB 886 – which would have provided a 13th check to retired state employees - but it never even came to a vote in the Senate.
These are the nine State Representatives who voted against it:
Meanwhile, in the Senate, SB 2330 aimed to prohibit public employees from choosing to have union dues deducted from their paychecks—a direct attack on workers’ freedom to organize. While the bill did not pass, it was backed by the following State Senators:
Rep. Carl Tepper from District 84, introduced similar language in the House through HB 4525.
